Femisapien Review

Update: You can now buy the Femisapien from M&S.

At last, a female robot! It was about time that robot makers realised that there is a huge female robot-buying market out there. And Wowwee appear to be the first to try to tap into this market with the Femisapien Robot

I thought it was only us blokes that try and communicate with "emotive sounds" but apparently the Femisapien will try and communicate in this fashion.

Like the Pleo, the Femisapien will have a range of behaviours:
  • Attentive mode - when in this mode she will wonder around your home - taking in the sights and sounds
  • Learning mode - here you create some dance moves for her
  • Responsive mode - here she will replicate those moves
Apparently to change the behaviour modes you have to tilt her head into different positions - seems a bit weired to me!

Also, we are told, she has 36 different functions and 20 different interactive routines available.

The sound quality is pretty awesome in the dance mode! In the affectionate mode she will kiss back you if you go to kiss her!

You can't really give the Femisapien credit by writing about it, you really have to see her in action!

She'll be released in the USA in September and will cost around £60.
